Joana Pulido

Hello!
My name is Joana Pulido and I’m 29 years of age. I live in a small town named Pinhal Novo, about 30km from Lisbon. I live with my mother, but my twin sister and my nephew are often with me.
As a person I would describe myself as social and positive, with a great human interest. I’m creative, flexible, and I enjoy working in a team.
Currently I am studying at my second year, out of four, to get my master degree in preschool- teacher/ Elementary teacher on Maria Ulrich College in Lisbon, to become an Elementary teacher.
I chose this profession because I believe that I can make a difference in children’s development helping them to be happy.
At the moment I don’t have must free time, because I’m studying to become a Pre-school teacher, and also, because I work in a preschool. On my few free times I like spending time with my friends, family and fiancé. The human relationships are very important to me, being that the reason why I appreciate the time we spend together. Since human relationships are so important to me, I also like to travel and meet new people and like a social person I like to visit places where I can meet all kind of people and cultures, being focus to become a better person, sharing all kind of experiences.
I pretend to be an active and working member of this group.
In April I will be able to talk and share ideas and experiences.
With this project my goal is to learn as much as I can new languages and cultures, and share also my knowledge about this theme. I expect also that with the possibility of crossing all opinions about education and the way of educate to improve my own opinion.

Best Regards
Joana Pulido

What comes to your mind concerning the IP theme?

When I became aware of the theme “Finding educational resources within urban places – building City Education”, I found it very interesting because it is an excellent theme for performing an Exchange, enriching both at personal, intellectual, and professionally.
This project gives us the opportunity to know other places, being part of them. Children are not isolated beings, they are part of a society and it is important to explore the medium that surrounds them, taking advantage of the existing resources.

What does it mean to you?

For me it has a unique meaning, is a dream come true. It means sharing ideas and experiences to enrich my own personality and my pedagogical practice. I’ll become a richer person. This project will also help me to develop as a human being and future pre-school or elementary school teacher. Because of that it will be an indispensable tool for my future.

How would you like to contribute to the IP?

I’ll have the opportunity to share with other colleagues our culture and our position when the theme is childhood education, contributing with my viewpoint and my convictions. We all have our journey and our experiences and I defend that we have the right and the duty to share with others, thereby contributing to the enrichment of the group, because we are unique and natural beings full of potential.

What do you expect to learn from it?

With the Erasmus Intensive Program I pretend to learn how to develop my visual field and know how to take better advantage of the features of the city, seeing it with other “eyes”. I want to become a richer person, increase my horizons, and discover other cultures and other modes of being. Learn what are their pedagogies and working methods.

Questions and doubts:

For the moment I don’t have any doubts or questions, being ready to face positively and in an excited way this new adventure.
