Esmeralda Plessen

HI!

My name is Esmeralda but everyone calls me Alda. I’m 24 years old and live in Kungsbacka nearby Gothenburg. Right now I’m studying my sixth term at Borås University to become a pre-school teacher. When time allows I work as a substitute teacher. My leisure time I like to spend with my friends, family and fiancé. My main interests are working out at the gym, dance, paint, watch movies, listening to music and sit by my computer. Also I like to travel and experience other cultures.

As a person I would describe myself as cheerful with a great human interest. I’m creative, flexible, hard-working, organized, patience and a bit persistent (for good or worse). I find it easy to work in a team as well as to work independently.

What comes to your mind concerning the IP theme?

I think it’s an excellent opportunity to meet new people from other countries and cultures, to get new experiences and exchange knowledge’s. Students give the chance to influence and inspire each other and therefore a possibility to grow in their coming career.

What does it mean to you?

I would like to get inspired from the other students, teachers and the country itself, to get new ideas and maybe another perspective on education. At my fifth term at the university I studied an “art course” and we worked with the concept to use the city as a classroom. I got some ideas of how to incorporate that theme and I would like to share that with other students.

In high school I participated in a similar project to Prague and I learned a lot from it! I hope this project will be even more rewarding.

How would you like to contribute to the IP?

Trough participation in conversations/discussions I might be able to give others different points of view (as well as get some). Also it gives me the possibility to teach other about my culture and about the Swedish community and pre- school system.

What do you expect to learn from it?

I expect to learn about other cultures and about their educational activities. I wish I can return to Sweden with a lot of new ideas and experiences. Of course I would like to have some new friends and foreign colleagues too, that I can keep in touch with and therefore continue to inspire each other.

Please state your doubts and questions.

At this moment I don’t believe I have any doubts about this project. I’m trying to keep my mind open and keep a positive attitude.
