Teresa Nunes

I was born 26 years ago in Lisbon, Portugal.
I finished my 5 year Communication Design degree in 2008 (FBAUL – Faculty of Fine Arts, Lisbon).
In my last year I applied for the Erasmus Programme which took me to the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, where I studied for 6 months and had my first big experience living out of my country. I also spent 4 months travelling around Australia.

Back in Lisbon, I’ve worked as a tour guide and exhibition assistant at Experimenta Design (Architecture and Design Biennale) and started working as a freelance graphic designer. I share a small studio with friends in the centre of Lisbon. Occasionally I do some photography projects as well.

Most recently I rediscovered one of my other big interests: writing. I’ve been focusing on getting more experience and training by taking several writing courses, like creative and travel writing.

I started teaching artistic expression in ESEI Maria Ulrich last year and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Somehow, I’ve been helping my students to express themselves and the world, visually, using not only analog techniques but new media as well.
Every since I know myself I’ve been passionate about the world of arts, and every subject that involves human creativity. I also believe in education as a powerful way to change and improve our society. That’s why I feel so related with this Intensive Programme, and happy to be a part of it.

Até breve! (which means ‘see you soon’)
